St. Marys – Allegheny Coatings and Metco Industries both were pushed to the brink Monday night, one needed extra innings, but both prevailed and were able to stay undefeated in St. Marys Mens League Softball action at the Robin Road Sports Complex.
Allegheny Coatings (8-0) needed two five run rallies and eight innings to beat winless Cavalier Roofing (0-6), 15-14.
Andy Eck had the big bat for the Goats, homering in the seventh and eighth innings on his way to a 3 for 5 night, knocking in 4 runs. Derek Meyer added a triple and homer. Cole Peterson went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles.
Eric Christoff went 4 for 4 to lead Cavalier. Logan Bauer and Christian Cherry homered in the losing effort.
Metco Industries (7-0) fell behind in the fifth inning before regaining the lead in the sixth and adding a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to take care of Deprators Beverage (2-5), 14-11.
Connor Bressler led Metco, smashing 2 homeruns and knocking in 6 runs. Mick Vogt went a perfect 5 for 5 for the winners.
Zack Zameroski was 3 for 3, leading Deprators at the dish. Matt Dush added a triple and Eric Gerber and Matt Bellina both doubled.
Tuesday night, Elk County Tool & Die (7-0) remained undefeated, blanking Cavalier Roofing 14-0.
Rudy Gleixner and Nick Reuscher both hit homeruns to power ECTD. Jared Groll added a pair of triples for the winners.
The lone bright spot for Cavalier was Ryan Mancuso, who went 2 for 2.
In the nights other game on Tuesday, Metco Industries also remained unbeaten, turning back Dream Catch (0-6), 17-3.
Aiden Zimmerman was 3 for 3 and Brett Herzing went 4 for 5 to lead Metco. One of Zimmerman’s hits was a triple.
