ECTD last undefeated in St. Marys Mens Softball

St. Marys – Elk County Tool & Die made it through week five of the regular season as the last undefeated team standing, picking wins over Dino’s Place on Tuesday and Allegheny Coatings Friday night to improve to 12-0 in St. Marys Mens Softball play at the Robin Road Sports Complex.

Mike Miraglia hits a three run dinger against Allegheny Coatings Monday night to help his team, Metco Industries, to a 20-17 win over previously unbeaten Allegheny Coatings.

Tuesday ECTD beat Dino’s 13-8 and followed that with a win over Allegheny Coatings Friday night 14-10.

Tuesday ECTD was led by Rudy Gleixner, who finished the game 5 for 5 with homerun, double and 5 RBI’s. Danny Singer added a dinger as well for the winners.

Friday night, ECTD got back to back homeruns from Jared Groll and Nate Hall to propel them to their win over the Goats. Nate Schneider added a long ball and Gleixner doubled and tripled for the winners.

The Goats (11-2) were led by Cole Peterson’s 4 for 4 night at the plate, which included a double. Kevin Hoy went 3 for 3 with a homerun, double and 5 RBI’s.

The Goats fell of the undefeated train Monday night against Metco Industries, who used a 12 run first inning to propel them to a 20-17 victory.

Metco (9-3) was led by Big Mike Miraglia, who was 4 for 4 with a homerun, double and 4 RBI. Both Dom Allegretto and Eric Herzing added 4 for 5 nights at the dish, with Allegretto smacking 2 doubles and knocking in runs, while Herzing added a pair of RBI.

For the Goats, Dillon Kline, Cole Peterson and Derek Meyer all went yard in the losing effort. Peterson finished with 4 RBI’s and Kline added 3.

Metco split their other two games, losing to St. Marys Insurance 21-13 on Thursday and defeating Dream Catch 12-1 Friday night.

Kurt Eckert and Jake Cortina led SMI (6-6) with a homerun each. Kyle Garner knocked in 6 runs, while Cortina finished with 5 RBI’s. Jeff Crawford tripled for the winners.

SMI also beat Dream Catch on Tuesday night 8-1 to finish the week with a pair of wins, getting their record to .500.

Deprators Beverage went 3-0 for the week, improving to 7-6 on the year and moving into fourth place in the standings. Beverage beat Cavalier Roofing twice, 15-11 and 20-2, and also got the best of Dino’s Place 17-5.

In Monday’s win over Cavalier (1-11), Jordan Weinzierl and Alec Wehler both homered twice. Dalton Bauer also homered twice.

In Deprators win over Dino’s (2-10), Wehler homered two more times, while Weinzierl and Bauer both added another dinger each.

In Beverage’s win Thursday over the Roofers, Wehler, Bauer and Nate Dezanet all smashed round trippers for the winners.

Logan Bauer’s two run homerun provided all the runs in Monday’s game for Cavalier, while on Thursday, Bauer, Max Cowen and Christian Cherry all homered in the losing effort.
