Metco, Elk County Tool & Die, Allegheny Coatings finish week undefeated

St. Marys – The Allegheny Coatings Goats, Metco Industries and Elk County Tool & Die all finish week one of the St. Marys Mens Softball season with an unblemished record in action at the Robin Road Sports Complex.

The Goats are off to a 3-0 start, while both ECTD and Metco are both sitting at 2-0.

The second half of the week started Wednesday night with Deprators Beverage pulling off the come from behind, bottom of the seventh 7-6 victory over Dream Catch.

Deprators trailed 6-5 starting the home half of the seventh, but it didn’t take them long to tie the game. Tyler Wehler tripled to lead off the inning and scored on an RBI single by Matt Bellina. Wehler then pinch ran for Bellina and scored on an double from Dalton Bauer to the win.

Jordan Weinzierl hit a three run homerun, double and had 3 RBI’s to lead Deprators. Bauer and Bellina both finished the night 3 for 4. Bellina finished with a pair of RBI’s.

In the late game on Wednesday, Allegheny Coatings took care of Cavalier Roofing 15-3.

Kevin Hoy led the Goats, going 4 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Andy hit a homerun, doubled and drove in 5 runs. Justin Quiggle added a round tripper and a two bagger and Cole Peterson also doubled for the winners.

Allegheny Coatings returned to action on Thursday night, starting the evening with another lopsided 18-5 win over Dino’s Place.

Kevin Hoy belted 2 homeruns and drove in 5 runs to lead the Goats. Andy Eck added a homerun, Derek Meyer tripled and Dalton Kline and Vince Jacob both doubled for Allegheny Coatings.

Dino’s was led by Tony Lewis, Jamer Cooney and Alex Vollmer, who all had a 2 for 2 night.

Elk County Tool & Die remained undefeated, holding off a St. Marys Insurance rally to win 14-13 during Thursday’s late game.

Jared Groll led the charge for ECTD, going 3 for 4 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI. Corey McGuire also homered and knocked in 3 runs. Rudy Gleixner and Nate Schneider also went 3 for 4 for the winners. Gleixner had a double and Schneider a triple.

SMI was led by Jeremy Williams’ 3 for 4, 1 homer, 3 RBI night. SMI rallied for 8 runs in the seventh, highlighted by a 3 run dinger by Kyle Garner (2 for 3, 3RBI), but fell just short of tying the game.

Friday night, mother nature won one game, with the Dream Catch and Elk County Tool & Die being postponed.

The early game that night did happen, with Metco Industries taking care of Dino’s Place 18-6.

Mike Miraglia and Mick Vogt both went 4 for 4 to lead Metco. Miraglia clobbered a homerun and added two doubles and 5 RBI’s. Jude Salvaggio and Brett Herzing both doubled and Dom Allegretto knocked in 3 runs.

Dino’s got two hits each from Joe Cooney, Cameron McMackin, Ray Kline, and Carter Julian. Alex Vollmer added a triple.
