Eckerts strengthens hold on first place

A night after mother nature won the battle at the Robin Road Sports Complex, the St. Marys Mens Softball League was back in action and Eckert Technical Services defeated Deprators Beverage 14-2 to strengthen their hold on the top spot in the standings.

Jared Groll had himself another big for ETS (12-2), going 3 for 3 with a pair of long balls and driving in 4 runs. Kyler Lenox, Tyler Donachy and Nick Reuscher all added homeruns for the Technicians. Nate Schneider pitched in with a double.

Deprators (9-6) was led by Ryan Heary’s 2 for 2 performance. Bryce O’Leary and Gavin Elmquist were credited with the two RBIs.

N&S Contractors scored six times in the second inning providing all the offense they would need in a 7-0 shutout of Tyler Landscape in the nightcap.

Al Schneider’s two-run double provided the big spark for the Contractors in the second.

Frank Lecker led N&S (5-11), going 4 for 4. Jamie Neubert was 3 for 4 and Schneider, John Ackley and Rod Anderson all added a pair of singles in the winning effort.

Matt Neubert led Tyler (5-10) with a 3 for 3 night at the dish. The Landscapers could only muster 6 hits in being shutout for the second consecutive game.
