Top three in Mens Softball all win

St. Marys – St. Marys Insurance, Allegheny Coatings and Eckert Technical Services were all in action either Wednesday or Thursday night, and the top three teams in the standings all won and put a little distance between them and the rest of the league as week three of the season is in the books in St. Marys Mens League action played at the Robin Road Sports Complex.

Wednesday night, Allegheny Coatings beat N&S Contractors 20-8 and Eckert’s squeaked past PA Powdered Metals 5-3 as both teams improved to 5-1.

St. Marys Insurance pushed their undefeated start to 6-0 with a 13-10 win over Carlson Technologies Thursday night. Tyler Landscape (3-4) beat Deprators Beverage 22-17 in the other game on the docket Thursday.

The Goats got two homeruns from Dillon Kline and one each from Justin Quiggle and Andy Eck. Vince Jacob, Kline, and Eck each tripled, and Ricky Pearsall, Jake Geer and Ryan Grimm added doubled.

John Ackley’s three run homerun led N&S (1-6).

Justin Eckert went 3 for 3 with a double to propel ETS. Jarod Groll added a homerun and Tyler Donachy doubled.

Mitchell Struble hit his league leading seventh homerun, a two-run shot, to lead PPM (1-5). Ty Burford added a triple and finished 3 for 3.

Kenny Vogt smacked a pair of homeruns and knocked in 3 RBIs to help SMI rally in the seventh to stay unbeaten. Lucas Wendel added three doubles, Kiel Nissel a two doubles and a homerun, and Ben Cortina and Tony Chiodo a double each for the winners.

For CTI (2-4), Steve Simchick was a perfect 4 for 4 with a homerun and 2 RBIs. Eric Herzing and Justin Saline both went 3 for 4, with Herzing smacking a triple and knocking in a pair of runs.

Brandon Tyger’s 4 for 5 night that included two homeruns and 8 RBI’s led Tyler in their win over Deprators. Nate Hoffman, Andy Glass and Jeff Crawford all added a dinger in the victory. Hoffman, Glass, Crawford, and Dalton Bauer also doubled.

For Deprators (3-3), Matt Bellina homered and tripled, Alec Wehler tripled, Bryce O’Leary, Brennen Klawuhn, Brady Schneider, and Austin Green all added a double in the losing effort.
