SMI, CTi, Goats, Deprators pick up big wins

St. Marys Insurance, with an 18-4 victory over Eckert Technical Services Wednesday night, coupled with PA Powdered Metals 24-11 loss to Carlson Technologies on Thursday night, finishes the week with a 12-1 record and a three game lead in the standings of the St. Marys Mens League after games played at the Robin Road Softball Complex.

Kenny Vogt and Tony Chiodo led SMI Wednesday night, both going 3 for 3. Vogt hit a homerun, doubled and knocked in 3 runs. One of Chiodo’s hits was a double. Jake Cortina also hit a three-run homerun and Kyle Garner blasted a two-run shot. Rudy Gleixner, Lucas Wendel (2) and Kurt Eckert (2) also doubled.

For ETS, Jared Groll was 2 for 2 and Nick Reuscher smacked a double.

The Buttonwood/East End Honkey Spuds put together a two-game winning streak and improved to 6-8 with their 13-11 win over Deprators Beverage Wednesday night.

Garrett Hornung and Zack Austin led the Spuds, both hitting triples. Matt Kriner and Nate Ball both had a double in the win.

Matt Bellina had a dinger to lead Deprators. Nate Dezanet and Brady Schneider each had a double in the losing effort.

Mike Miraglia continued his hot week, going 3 for 3 with another homerun, a double and 3 RBI’s Thursday night to lead CTI (7-8) to a huge win, 24-11, over PA Powdered Metals (10-4) Thursday night.

Luke Nicklas added a 3 for 4 night that included 2 homeruns and 6 RBI’s for CTI. Steve Simchick was also 3 for 4 with a homerun and 6 RBI’s. Brett Herzing added a 3 for 4 night as well, and his brother, Eric, finished 4 for 5 for the winners.

Tyler Landscape (9-4) picked up a 16-10 win over N&S Contractors (1-13) in Thursday night’s other game.

Andy Eck had the hot stick for the Landscapers, going 3 for 4 with a pair of homeruns and a double. Josh Pollino was a perfect 4 for 4. Dalton Bauer and Tyler ‘Hammer’ Daniels each added a homerun and Matt Eckert (2) and Choie Schaffer both rapped doubles.

Deprators Beverage upset PA Powdered Metals 14-12 Friday night to cap off the week of play in league action.

Back-to-back singles by Alec Wehler and Ryan Heary started off the decisive bottom of the sixth for Beverage. Nate Dezanet doubled them both in and Dezanet scored on a single by Matt Bellina to score three runs and rally to take the lead 14-12 and then held PPM scoreless in the top of the seventh for the win.

Alec Wehler led Deprators (4-12) with a 4 for 4 effort that included a double. Heary also had a triple, Ryan Fritz smacked a homerun and Dezanet had a double for the winners.

Leading PPM (10-5) Danny Singer with a homerun. Ross Brennen added a double and a triple and Jack Herzing collected two base hits in the losing effort.

In the early game Friday night, the Allegheny Coatings Goats erupted for 31 hits on their way to a 27-3 four inning win over Eckert Technical Services.

Ricky Pearsall was 5 for 5 with 2 doubles, a grand slam and 7 RBI’s in the Goats win over ETS.

Dillon Kline smacked two long balls and knocked in 6 RBI’s. Cole Peterson and Rich Quiggle both added doubles.

For ETS (5-10), Colby Lenox was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Tyler Lenox had an RBI single.
