Deprators gets first win, St. Marys Insurance stays undefeated

Deprators Beverage picked up their first win of the season Thursday night, squeaking past N&S Contractors 6-5 at the Robin Road Extension Softball Complex in St. Marys Men’s League action.

Trailing 5-4 going into the bottom of the seventh, Matt Bellina started off the inning with a single. Ryan Fritz reached on an error and so did Bryce O’Leary. Bellina scored on O’Leary’s error to tie the game at 5-5. With one out and the bases loaded, Wade Steis hit a sacrifice fly to score Fritz and give Beverage (1-7) the 6-5 win.

Brennen Klahuwn, Gavin Elmquist and O’Leary were both 2 for 3 to lead Deprators.

Al Schneider homered and tripled to lead N&S (1-5).

St. Marys Insurance remained undefeated at 5-0 with an 11-8 win over the Buttonwood/East End Beverage Honkey Spuds in the late game on Thursday night.

Rudy Gleixner was a perfect 4 for 4 with 5 RBI’s and a pair of triples to lead SMI. Kenny Vogt added a two-run homer and Kiel Nissel doubled for the winners.

Zack Austin hit a homerun and Bobby Jack, Ken Meyer and Matt Kriner were both 2 for 3 to lead the Spuds (2-4).

The Allegheny Coatings Goats, shut out Monday, recorded their second shutout in seven calendar days, blanking Deprators Beverage 23-0 in five innings Wednesday night.

Derek Meyer led the Goats (5-2) offensively, going 5 for 5 with a double and a triple and knocking in 4 RBI’s. Kevin Hoy chipped in a 4 for 5 night with a homerun and a double plus 5 RBI’s. Justin Quiggle added a three-run homerun and 5 RBI. Cole Peterson hit an inside the park homerun and banged in 4 runs. Ricky Pearsall also hit an inside the park homerun and a double for the winners.

For Deprators (1-7), Tyler Wehler was 2 for 2. Alec Wehler, Dan Wimer, Brady Schneider, Gavin Elmquist and Wade Steis all added a single.

In Wednesday night’s second game, Tyler Landscape raised their record to 3-2 with a 10-2 win over Carlson Technologies.

Eric Bush led the Landscapers with a 3 for 3 performance that included a homerun and 6 RBI’s. Andy Eck was 2 for 3 with a triple and Andy Glass was 2 for 4 for the winners.

For Carlson’s (3-3), Nick Dattoli and Brandon Tyger both went 2 for 3. Luke Nicklas added a homerun.
