St. Marys – Zack Zameroski hit a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday night to propel his team, Deprators Beverage, to a 13-10 win over Keystone Rural Health and a spot in next week’s semifinal round of the St. Marys Mens League Playoffs in action at the Robin Road Sports Complex.
With the game tied at 10-all heading to the bottom of the seventh, Jordan Weinzierl led off the rally with a single. After a flyout for out number one, Matt Bellina smacked a single, putting runners at first and second, setting up Zameroski, who drilled a line drive over the leftfield fence for the win.
Deprators swept the first round series with Keystone Rural Health, 2-0.
Dalton Bauer also hit a three-run shot for Deprators, who also got a perfect night at the plate from Nate Dezanet. Alec Wehler added a two-run dinger as well for the winners.
Leading KRH was Mick Vogt, who went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s. Brett Herzing was also 3 for 4 and Eric Herzing was 2 for 3.
In Wednesday night’s early game, defending champion Allegheny Coatings swept Cavalier Roofing, winning the second game of their best of three series 15-1.
Dalton Kline provided the big hit for the Goats, a three run homerun. Derek Meyer, Rich Quiggle, Ryan Grimm and Jake Geer all added doubles. Dillon Kline went 2 for 3 and knocked in 4 runs.
Kyle Schneider hit a solo homerun to account for the Roofers lone run.
In Thursday night action, top seeded St. Marys Insurance defeated Dino’s Place 29-7, for a 2-0 series win and a spot in the semifinals.
Leading the way for SMI Lucas Wendel, Jake Cortina and Nathan Liggett, who all knocked in 5 runs apiece. Cortina hit 2 homeruns and Wendel and Liggett both cleared the fence once. Kenny Vogt and Kyle Garner also homered. Tony Chiodo added a triple.
For Dino’s, Josh Robinson and Reese Novosel went 3 for 3. Tony Lewis, Joe Cooney,
and Bryce Walker all went 2 for 2.
In the final first round matchup, Elk County Tool & Die secured the final semifinal spot with a 17-9 win over Gerg Tool & Die and a 2-0 sweep in their series.
ECTD was led by Danny Singer, who went 3 for 5 with a homerun and 6 RBI’s. Rudy Gleixner and Ty Donachy also homered. Garrett Hornung added a triple for the winners.
In the semifinals it will be top seeded St. Marys Insurance facing off against fifth seeded Deprators Beverage and in the other semifinal, it will be a rematch of last years final between second seeded Elk County Tool & Die and the Allegheny Coatings Goats, the third seed. Both series will be the best of three format.

Wednesday August 2 – 5:50 pm – St. Marys Insurance vs Deprators Beverage ; Elk County Tool & Die vs Allegheny Coatings. Thursday August 3 – 5:50 pm – Allegheny Coatings vs Elk County Tool & Die (if needed) ; 6:50 pm – Deprators Beverage vs St. Marys Insurance (if needed). If only one series goes all three games, the Thursday game will begin at 6:00 pm.
