Eckert Technical Services won the showdown for first place Friday night in St. Marys Mens League Softball, defeating St. Marys Insurance 10-5 to move into sole possession of first place in action at the Robin Road Softball Complex.
Nate Schneider led ETS (8-1), going 4 for 4 with a double. Jared Groll and Kyler Lenox both smacked homeruns and Nick Reuscher added a double for the winners.
SMI (8-2) was led by Kenny Vogt’s triple and Kyle Garner’s double.
Allegheny Coatings rallied late to defeat PA Powdered Metals 13-10 to hold on to third place in Friday night’s other game .
For the Goats (8-3), Derek Meyer and Justin Quiggle both homered, Ricky Pearsall tripled, and Dillon Kline added a double. Quiggle also had 3 RBIs to lead the team.
PPM (1-10) held leads of 4-0 and 10-5 before Allegheny Coatings rallied for 3 in the sixth and 5 in the seventh to secure the win.
On Thursday night, Tyler Landscape knocked off Carlson Technologies 26-14 and Deprators Beverage doubled up N&S Contractors 16-8.
Andy Glass and Jordan Weinzierl both hit dingers to lead Tyler (4-4). Matt Neubert (5 for 5) and Dalton Bauer (4 for 4) both were perfect at the plate. Glass and Bauer both knocked in 4 RBIs on the night.
For Carlson’s (3-7), Steve Simchick was 4 for 4 with a homerun and 4 RBIs. Alex Datoli added a 3 for 4 performance that included a triple and 3 RBI. Mick Vogt was also perfect at the dish, going 3 for 3.
Tyler Wehler homered and Garrett Bauer and Bryce O’Leary both tripled to lead Deprators (6-3). Nate Dezanet doubled twice, and Matt Bellina added another double for the winners.
Hog Hoffman led N&S (1-8), going 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Trey Anderson added a triple and Frank Lecker smacked a double.
On Wednesday, just one game got in due to the weather, with St. Marys Insurance breaking a 9-9 tie in the sixth, scoring 6 times in both the sixth and seventh to defeat Allegheny Coatings 21-10.
Kenny Vogt led SMI, hitting 3 homeruns and knocking in 6 runs. Rudy Gleixner was 5 for 5 with a homerun and a pair of RBI’s. Tony Chiodo was also perfect at 3 for 3 with 4 runs knocked in for the winners.
Justin Quiggle and Andy Eck both homered for the Goats. Rich Quiggle and Vince Jacob added doubles and Ricky Pearsall was 3 for 3 for the losers.
