St. Marys – PA Powdered Metals picked up their first win of the season Monday night when Luke Hoffman singled in the bottom of the seventh to score Andy Geci, beating N&S Contractors 23-22 in St. Marys Mens League Softball action held at the Robin Road Sports Complex.
The Allegheny Coating Goats also rallied from a 4-2 deficit Monday night thanks to a Justin Quiggle 2-run homerun in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 6-5 win over Tyler Landscape.
PPM (1-4) was led by a perfect night at the plate by Danny Singer, 5 for 5, all singles. Mitchell Struble hit his league leading 6th homerun of the season and Cory Huff and Tyler Martonik both added a double and Luke Hoffman had four hits for the winners.
Frank Lecker, Al Schneider and Hoggie Hoffman all had four hits to lead N&S (1-4). Jamie Neubert, John Ackley, and Dick Perroz all doubled in the losing effort.
The Goats (4-1) also got a double and 2 RBI’s from Kevin Hoy and a pair of RBI’s from Dillon Kline.
Jordan Weinzierl led Tyler (2-3), going 3 for 4 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s. Brandon Tyger added a double.
Tuesday night saw St. Marys Insurance keep their record perfect at 5-0 with a 16-1, five inning win over Deprators Beverage.
Rudy Gleixner led SMI by going 3 for 4 with a homerun and 4 RBI. Lucas Wendel and Kyle Garner both added doubles.
For Deprators (3-2), Alex Fedus had an RBI single and Brady Schneider went 2 for 2.
In the second game Wednesday, Tubby’s Tavern slipped past Carlson Technologies 9-6.
Tubby’s (2-4) was led by Nate Ball’s 2-run single and Zip McKimm’s RBI double during a five run first inning. Jamer Cooney was the leading hitter for the game, finishing 3 for 4.
For Carlson’s (2-3), Ben Vogt was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and Justin Saline also went 2 for 3.
