The Allegheny Coatings Goats and St. Marys Insurance both picked up 20+ run wins to start off the week in St. Marys Mens League Softball action at the Robin Road Extension Softball Complex.
The Goats took care of N&S Contractors 22-1 in four innings and SMI routed the Buttonwood/East End Beverage Honkey Spuds 21-1, also in four innings.
The Goats (12-4) were led by Justin Quiggle’s 4 for 4 performance that included 2 homeruns and 6 RBI’s. Kevin Hoy was also 4 for 4 with a homerun and 6 RBI’s. Ricky Pearsall was 5 for 5 and Cole Peterson had 2 doubles and a triple, Ryan Grimm doubled and homered and Dillon Kline added a two-bagger.
For N&S (1-14), Matt Neubert was 2 for 2 with a run scored and Rick Beimel was 2 for 2 with an RBI. Al Schneider was also perfect at the dish, going 2 for 2.
SMI (13-1) was led by Ben Cortina’s perfect 3 for 3 night. Kiel Nissel was 2 for 3 with a homerun and 5 RBI’s. Rudy Gleixner and Lucas Wendel added 3 for 4 nights. Gleixner and Kyle Garner had doubles.
For the Honkey Spuds (7-9), Garrett Hornung led off the game with a solo homerun and that was it for the Buttonwood/East End Beverage.
The Honkey Spuds did pick up a win Monday night, knocking off PA Powdered Metals 13-5.
For the Spuds in their win, Ken Meyer was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Dustin Geist, Jamer Cooney and Matt Kriner were also 2 for 3. Zack Austin added a triple and Zip McKimm plated 3 RBI’s.
For PA Powdered Metals (10-6), Jared Braun was 2 for 3. Frank Singer added a double.
In the late game Tuesday night, Deprators Beverage upset Carlson Technologies 16-8, scoring all their runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Collecting three hits each to lead Deprators (5-11) were Tyler Wehler, Ryan Fritz, Nate Dezanet, Matt Bellina and George Schneider. Alec Wehler hit a 3-run inside the park homerun, Bryce O’Leary doubled and Dezanet had a triple.
Leading CTI (7-9) with a 3 for 4 night that included a double was Brett Herzing. Mike Miraglia smacked a grand slam and finished with 5 RBI’s. Mick Vogt was 3 for 3 and Mark Schaberl was 2 for 3. Steve Simchick added a triple.
