Mens league softball postseason begins Wednesday

St. Marys – The regular season ended Tuesday night for the St. Marys Mens Softball League, meaning all the playoff seeds are locked in and Elk County Tool and Die are the 2025 regular season champions and the top seed of the playoffs, which begin Wednesday night.

ECTD finished the season at 17-3, good enough for a two-game advantage over both St. Marys Insurance and the Allegheny Coatings Goats, who both had a record of 15-5. SMI will be the second seed by virtue of the winning the season series against the Goats.

Metco Industries (13-7) rounds out the top four seeds. All of the top four teams will host the first round, best of three series.

ECTD is the defending champion. Between ECTD, SMI and the Goats, the three teams have won the past seven league championships, three each for SMI and the Goats, with last year’s win being ECTD first.

The play-in game will kick things off Wednesday night at 5:50 pm between eighth seeded PFL (4-16) and ninth seeded Dino’s Place (4-16). The winner will advance to play top seeded ECTD. In the second game at 6:50, second seed St. Marys Insurance will host seventh seeded Gerg Insurance.

Thursday night starts off with Allegheny Coatings hosting CMF. In the night cap, it will be Metco Industries taking on Tent Express (9-11).

On Friday night, top seed ECTD will kick it off, taking on the winner of the play-in game between PFL and Dino’s Place. The last game of the week will pit SMI and Gerg. They will square off in the second game of their best of three series.
