St. Marys Insurance continued rolling through the regular season to stay atop of the standings in St. Marys Mens League Softball during late week action at the Robin Road Softball Complex, but the bottom part of the standings is starting to make some waves and positions are suddenly up for grabs as the standings from fifth to ninth are now separated by only two games.
SMI (14-1) rolled past Carlson Technologies (7-10), shutting them out 18-0. This was SMI’s second shutout of the season, tying them with Allegheny Coatings for the league lead.
Lucas Wendel led the Insurance men, going 3 for 4 with a home run and 6 RBI’s. Kenny Vogt doubled, homered and drove in 3 runs. Jeremy Williams was a perfect 4 for 4 that included a double.

For CTI, Brett Herzing and Steve Simchick were both 2 for 2.
Deprators Beverage upset Tyler Landscape 17-16 Wednesday night to improve to 6-12, two games out of fifth place.
Matt Bellina paced Deprators at the plate, going 4 for 5 with a homerun. Ryan Heary smacked two dingers, Ryan Fritz added a double and triple, Tyler Wehler doubled, and Brady Schneider tripled for the winners.
TLM, now 9-6, was led by Andy Eck’s 3 for 4 night that included a homerun. Josh Pollino was also 3 for 4, as was Jude Salvaggio. Brock Lewis added a homerun in the losing effort.
Tyler was also the victim of Eckert Technical Services upset Thursday night, falling to the Electricians 10-4.
ETS (6-10) was led by Colby Lenox’s 3 for 4 night. Nick Reuscher legged out a triple and Jared Groll added a double for the winners.
Leading the way for TLM was Jordan Weinzierl, who was 3 for 4 with a double. Josh Pollino and Tyler ‘Hammer’ Daniels were both 2 for 3.
In Wednesday night’s other game, Allegheny Coatings solidified their hold on second place by defeating PA Powdered Metals 9-8.
Powering the Goats, now 13-4, was Derek Meyer with a pair of homeruns. Ricky Pearsall added a double and both Ryan Grimm and Kevin Hoy were 3 for 4.
Leading PPM (10-7) was Danny Singer’s perfect 4 for 4 night at the dish. Andy Geci was also perfect at the plate, finishing up 3 for 3. Jared Braun 3 hits in 4 plate appearances as well in the losing effort.
Jared Braun had three hits against Allegheny Coatings for PPM.
Friday night, PA Powdered Metals got back on the winning track, defeating red-hot Deprators Beverage 13-1. In the night’s other game, Eckert Technical Services got past N&S Contractors 8-3.
PPM was led by Danny Singer, who went 3 for 3 with a homerun, double and 4 RBI’s. Ross Brennen was 3 for 4. Cory Huff and Jack Herzing added doubles for the winners.
For Deprators, Dan Wimer was 2 for 2 and Scott Wehler drove in Beverage’s lone run.
Bryce O’Leary gets a hit earlier in the season. His team, Deprators Beverage, was an impressive 2-1 last week, recording a pair of upset wins.
Kyler Lenox and Bryan Hansen led ETS at the plate, going 2 for 3. Lenox also had a pair of RBIs. Nick Reuscher legged out his second triple of the week and Jared Groll and Brandon Sicheri both added a double to winner’s book.
ETS picked up a win over N&S Contractors Friday night 8-3.
ETS was led by Mike Rearick, who was 3 for 3. Brandon Sicheri was 2 for 3 with a double. Nick Reuscher was 2 for 2 with a triple and a pair of RBI’s. Jared Groll added a double.
N&S was led by Matt Neubert’s 3 for 3 night. Frank Lecker was 2 for 3 with a triple in the losing effort.
